Dopamine: a multi-faced neurotransmitter

Per gentile concessione di Intitute Boiron

The first study demonstrating the disintegration of dopamine in the brains of deceased Parkinson's patients was published in 1960. This discovery led to the use of levodopa intreating this disease, seen as a true "epiphany" by hundreds of thousands of patientsworldwide. To date, more than twenty thousand articles have been published on dopamine: this is seen through its many facets. First of all, we will attempt to briefly describe some of these facets, both from a neurobiological and from a neuro-pharmaceutical point of view.
